I've been a licensed Cosmetologist for 16 years and this road has not always been easy or profitable!! I have been a booth renter, suite renter, commissioned stylist, and salon owner so I been on every side of the fence when it comes to trying to figure out how to make the most out of this journey. In every position...Education has always been key! What you KNOW is how you GROW.
Knowing this...I fell head first into learning all I could from some of the industries top beauty professionals. I attended trade shows, virtual classes, hand on classes, conferences, and trial and error in the salon 😂. I've paid $25 and I've paid $2000 for classes and I have learned so much from these experiences whether it was one little nugget or a whole new skill. Some of my experiences were amazing but as we all know it's the negative experiences that stand out the most. So showing up to some of these classes where I was promised so much and received so little was a little disappointing but definitely a lesson. But it's a lesson that I used to learn what not to do when teaching others.
I have helped others so much indirectly and have never really thought of myself as an educator because fear had me bound. I had to learn that experience is the best teacher and I have plenty of that!
